Today I soldered and waterproofed the wires. We also heated up the shrink wrap so we have finished the motors. We started connecting the motors to the frame so it should be ready to get tested out by next class. Although the hot glue was a bit messy around our wires since it melted, we have successfully waterproofed them. By next class I am hoping to test out our finished ROV and hoping it works.

Today I connected the wires with the tether wires and we began to solder them together. We got to solder one wire and began to solder a second one but did not get to finish. By next class we will hopefully finish soldering next time and waterproof them so that we finish the motors.

During my makeup session, I worked on the motors with Gianna. We stripped the wires and prepared to connect them to the stripped tether wires. Before we stripped the wires and tether, we practiced with wires that were similar to the wires we were going to use. We had to measure out lengths of how far to strip the wires and tether. We marked the items with a sharpie before stripping and cutting them so that it will be easier.

Today I started working on the motors. We looked over the instructions on how to make the motors/propellers and made the motors. At first we struggled finding a way to remove the tan plastic top of the motor where the propellers were going to get attached. By next class I want to start working on connecting the tether wires to the motor wires.

Today I practiced connecting wires and reviewed how to solder wires. I ended up stripping the wire too much, so I wasn't able to start soldering. By next class I am hoping to start to solder at least one wire together so that my partner and I can start working on the motors.

Today I got my job assigned, which is to build propulsion/motor. I watched videos on how to strip and solder wires, and how to make a connection waterproof. After I watched the the training videos, I began to practice stripping wire and connecting wires to each other. It was challenging at first to strip the wire because I was afraid to rip it but then I got more comfortable doing it. Next class I plan to practice soldering and making a connection waterproof.
