Team Photo/Competition Winners!
Date absent: 5/15/17
After assembling all the pieces together (frame with the motors and control box), doing some practice runs on our ROV at the pool, and working as a team towards the final competition, we won!!
5/19/17 Today I finished soldering up the rest of the motor wires. After I finished soldering, I waterproofed the motor wires. I double checked everything and made sure it was ready to be submerged in water. It was hard to use the hot glue and then use the heat tool which made it get a little messy. Next class we will connect the motors to the frame and test its buoyancy.
5/17/17 Today I connected the motor wires to the tether wires and waited for a soldering iron. After getting a soldering iron I started soldering all the wires together. It was difficult to get a hang of the soldering but eventually we finished one. Tomorrow we will finish the soldering and connect the motor to the control box.

During flextime I started working on the motors. I stripped wire and finished the cross tether system. I marked all the wires and made sure to put the waterproofing skin on the wires before I solder. Next class I are going to solder and waterproof the wires.
5/12/17- Today I started actually making the motors and seeing what we’ll need to do to finalize the ROV. I had some trouble with figuring out some of the wire work and we also had to double check our framework with the new information of having the cross tether in it. I also had some difficulty trying to take off the tan protector on the motor. Next class we will start finishing up our ROV and figure out the final touches.

During my makeup session, I worked on the blogs that I missed for the team and daily blog. I also practiced more with wire stripping to get more comfortable. I started learning how to solder and practiced on some wires. I practiced until I got the hang of it and was more comfortable with soldering wires.
5/8/17- I started off class by watching the training videos for each job we were assigned to. I will be working on the motors/propulsion with Ana. After watching the videos I practiced stripping wires and watch soldering. I learned what our positions would be and what I will need to do in order to connect working motors. Next class I will practice soldering and help plan out the actual frame.

5/5/17 - At the beginning of the period, I prepared with my team for the interview in order to get our materials. After the interview we went to the kiddie pool and learned the controls while playing with an ROV. We had some trouble with some questions during the interview as a hardship for today but our blog is in very great shape which is a plus for today. While playing with the ROV, we learned a lot about the controls and where there’s strategic placement for the motors. Next class, the goal is to watch the training videos and assign roles for making the ROV.
